That's an awesome news to hear, congratulations to AKB for making it to Kouhaku once again!
Not that many of us doubted that their selection was already in the bag by the time the nominations rolled in anyways, but it's good to see it being confirmed at last. Considering all the hard work the whole group did to earn themselves (inter)national recognition this year, I think it's safe to say they fully deserved it. Even though I admit their 2007 appearance was a stroke of luck for the most part, albeit a very propitious one at that. But I don't want to sound like a spoilsport here.

Good for them! There's a clip (just audio, since it was a radio show) on YouTube of AkiP telling them live on the air that they made it to Kouhaku. He only got through "NHK 60th Kouha..." before they drowned him out with epic screams. And of course, Takamini cried. XD

I've just realized. This is Arashi's first time on Kouhaku? Don't they have Johnny's Countdown to do? Or will they go to Johnny's Countdown immediately after their Kouhaku performance?
