- What do you do for a living/What do you study - To pay the bills I work grunt-level retail, although I've got a BA in English and journalism. I got my dream job as a city-beat newspaper reporter immediately out of college, only to discover it wasn't for me. I can edit English for readability, although I'm more of a descriptivist than a prescriptivist (meaning grammar comes second to communicating, whereas grammar Nazis reverse that).

- Aside your work/study, what hobbies do you have that require some form of skill.- My artsy blog gets about 3000 hits/wk (but is absurdly simple) and I do periodic articles through it, but nothing wage-earning. I also do hands-on art things that someday might sell, but is for the most part just fun to do. I'm currently working on a acrylic/tempera piece that will take 3 months just to assemble the textured 'canvas' it will be painted on -- around 1,800 interlocked paper stars eventually to be glue to a 10ftx4ft base that I plan to hang in my living room on a big blank wall. I've got no fewer than 10-15 different projects in various stages of development.

- What have you done or been part of that could be considered impressive, even if just in a slight way. - I was a Star rank in Boy Scouts, I can play the tenor and soprano sax (and own a soprano, played tenor for 6 years in Jr/High bands), I've got over 200 original Youtube videos and plan to add about 10-20 in the next few weeks, I'm level 56 on Farmville, I've got 2 years of university-grade French lessons (although my grammar is hideous), once memorized all of the [hirag/katak]ana (one of them, I forget which) a few years ago but have since forgotten them but would like to study J-nese or Korean formally someday, and I actually know someone IRL who has even heard of AKB48 (despite being in Texas, where people are surprised Japan has its own music industry outside of stuff played on a sitar).

What are you good at? What can you do? - I'm pretty good at complaining that my favorite show hasn't been subbed by the time the next episode has already come out, and would be glad to proofread subs for English grammar/spelling/clarity.

- I go to school, and work at a meat locker, I study basic 8th grade stuff
- Aside your work/study, what hobbies do you have that require some form of skill>
- I edit videos and make YouTube Backgrounds, username on YT is same as here
- What have you done or been part of that could be considered impressive, even if just in a slight way?
- I'm in staff for planning a local anime convention, and I've won best sound track at a teen video contest

Professional programmer in the healthcare industry. Know several languages (C, C++, VB, VC, VB.NET, C#, Java, Perl, assembler, some Python, PHP and Ruby, etc), although I only use the first 7 at work. Know both design and implementation. Work with MySQL and Oracle databases (know SQL). Also know almost everything related to XML (schemas, DTDs, stylesheets, etc) and web environment (X/HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc).

I have been studying Japanese for 13 years, although I never really put any effort. However last December I passed JLPT level 4, and going to target N4 this year. From this week I also start Korean (k-horror nowadays is much more important than j-horror, one of my hobbies).

I guess passing JLPT could be considered important (if only for ego). I am writing a blog in Japanese to try to get used to kanjis. I am moderator in the Allegro.cc community (an amateur video game library), but never created anything useful with it (I am more of a designer and prefer creating engines than games). I helped also with KQ, an old-school RPG game. Until a couple of years ago I was an active administrator in Wikipedia, however I am now on extended wikibreak... not that much impressive other to demonstrate a cool head =)

As for what I can do, it depends on my mood. I spend quite a lot of time programming at work, so I am not likely to program at home. However, if I like the project I may consider give it a glimpse.

Well, here I got a problem. While I prefer open source over free and proprietary software (ironic since proprietary software gives me money at the end of the month) I am can stand that. However, I am really against web "extensions" (Flash, Java, Silverlight, etc) that extend what, in my point of view, should be done natively by HTML and JavaScript.

The fact that currently HTML doesn't allow that (just now HTML5 includes support for multimedia elements without needing containers like Flash) is unfortunate, and only ties the browser to certain companies (like Adobe for Flash, Sun for Java and Microsoft/Novell for Silverlight/Moonlight) when it should be completely open.

I have seen the demos, and tried the base demo of Moonlight when it was demonstrated, but haven't really checked it. Saw some code, but haven't compiled anything.

What do you do for a living/What do you study
I study Japanese language at university, year in Japan coming up. Second year student, thouhh I have about 4 years of experience. Maybe just under JLPT Level 2? I also have some skills with Classical Japanese.

Aside your work/study, what hobbies do you have that require some form of skill
Erm, not a whole lot. Expert at stacking shelves in Asda and talking drivel. I guess I'm quite experienced with video encoding and the like.

What have you done or been part of that could be considered impressive, even if just in a slight way.
Eh, I dunno. I've become rather good at public speeches I guess.

What are you good at? What can you do?
Umm... staying sober even after consuming large amounts of alcohol. I'm quite tolerent of even the most annoying people (guess that's how I ended up with my housemates), and constantly ending up in the 'good friend'/'like a brother' position with females. Even though I'm 24, I look about 18, yet I've failed to put that 'skill' to good use. 'bout it.

- What do you do for a living/What do you study
Studying Business and it's boring as fuck. I have no idea what career to pursue as all the jobs I want are completely unrealistic and retarded.

- Aside your work/study, what hobbies do you have that require some form of skill
Since I never have any money the only hobby I'm allowed to have now is going on the Internet and that doesn't even count. I play guitar too but the very fact that it requires some skill means I fail epically at it.

- What have you done or been part of that could be considered impressive, even if just in a slight way.
I am a distant relative to Rick Astley. If that isn't impressive then nothing is.

- What are you good at? What can you do?
Tekken 6 and Pro Evo, that's about it really. I'm fucking ace at them though.

Designs. But hey I don't plan to be a designer... -_-"

- Aside your work/study, what hobbies do you have that require some form of skill
I love to do illustrations. (See my AKB Comics) (actually still consider within my study)
I think I've no more skills already... Maybe...rapping? (Ok, I'm not that good of a rapper too ... -_-")
I've been in the basketball team...but a reserve.

Ok, face it, I've no special skills. NEXT! :eekrun:

- What have you done or been part of that could be considered impressive, even if just in a slight way.
I helped my friend with her art work for exhibition.
I guess I'm proud of my AKB Comic.

Oh yea, I've scripted a working NDS game...tho I don't understand C++ at all. :fuckyou:

- What are you good at? What can you do?
Illustrations (limited to computer vectors only)?
I think I'm best at slacking.

The classes were just in general information relating to information and internet security. They were online classes with no hands on work. In the fall I'm taking a class in network intrusion.

Things like DNS attacks, trojans, virus, and protecting stuff with firewall. The class didn't cover anything like SQL injections or XXS.

Ah, I see. Internet security is a real broad term, so I was curious what exactly you know.
