Anime Expo fans hate Stage48???

But ya, what i was hoping for next year is AX to have security working early (if possible) enough to prevent line jumping and place holding. Its just really not fair to the other people who waited the entire 9 hours while the most just joined the front of the line at noon... Couldn't stress out enough that the people in front of us had a Sign up saying "Section 48 Here" and grew from 3 people into nearly 30.

Quote

The sign actually said "stage48", which is a forum focusing on AKB48. And yeah, they cut the lines in every single AKB48 event. Their lack of shame was astonishing.

Quote

Yea Stage 48... i do have to agree with their lack of shame...  I noticed half of the people didnt even know each other... People just went in their spot, introduced themselves, and stayed there for the rest of the wait. Whats AKB48?

I always say that to scam you need someone willing to do it and someone stupid enough to be scammed. Whenever I am in a queue and I notice something like that in front of me, I tell them that they can do that behind me, and then step ahead of them. Of course, very few ever dare discuss with me :headbang:

Besides, who hasn't skipped a queue at least once because of a friend?

I've never cut in line in anything before and I follow the 12 items or less rule in express lines.

Yeah, people have called me on it and I know it's damn stupid, but I follow rules when others can be screwed for my actions.

The only time I've skipped lines was when I was being skipped. I do the same thing as ET452 except I just walk in front of them without asking. HAHA. I had to do it at a Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker event.. a group of 2 LITERALLY became 15.

I just thought it was funny since they rag on us for being douchy... but then... :headbang:

But then I did get us Nihongogo's INTERVIEW with AKB48! which was probably why I was was relatively easygoing when I was in line for Autographs.

They had a right to. As we know, stage48'ers were the only fans there and they had to do everything necessary to see their group. Their lives would have been totally meaningless if they didn't. :headbang:

Sad part is, that second statement's probably not a joke.

So basically, Stage48 and Japanese fans are the only true fans of AKB48. :headbang:

We actually met a stage48 guy that wasn't part of the cutting group (which was the majority of them, I don't care what they say) and he was pretty upset with them too.

Stage48 does not officially endorse the practice of line cutting , kitten punching, or dismembering limited edition Haruhi Suzumiya dolls to make anime neckbeards cry down in their parent's basement. making anime fans mad. I'll ask them to add nihongogo to the sign next year :depressed:

From reading about these autograph lines and shit, maybe I'm just a crazy outsider looking in, but are all American anime conventions this hopelessly organised? First last year in NY and now this one, it seems like they couldn't organise a fuck in a brothel...

Actually the NYAF was organized really well as far as Anime Cons go.

I told people to get in line and they did. I even split people into Premium Ticket and Normal Ticket lines, the way the rules told us the tickets would be doled out. 200 reserved for Premium and the rest reserved for Normals.

I made sure no one cut and everyone who went early got their autograph ticket. I made sure of that.

My noble actions are verifiable from many sources. wil, korp, delerium, flipout/flippinpatty, whiteyuri, hahaxwil, sarah/indigoburulove and everyone else who went for the Autograph tickets early in the morning and camped out with us.

Weren't there problems with like, autograph tickets being given out at the same time as people were the Q&A session or something? Or am I mixing that up with Japan Expo :depressed:

Nope. Autograph tickets were given out in the morning for a limited time. They gave them out exactly at the time they said they would and found the lines pleasantly pre-controlled by me.

One remark from a staff member "Wow.. you guys are already split into your groups! Great! Less work for me!"

The Autograph sessions was RIGHT AFTER the Q&A which was in the afternoon though. Many people who tried to get into the autograph sessions WITHOUT the autograph tickets were turned away.

Yeah, Peter Tatara from NYAF was cool. He made sure that the people that were there @ 3am (Autograph tix were given out at around 10am) got in front of the line.

Mostly. I've been to a few cons in my time and they've all been the same in that nothing starts on time, the lines are a nightmare, and most staffers suck. The only differences are the size and quality of guests. Everything else is fairly uniform.

NYAF staff was cool people. The staff guy that was handling the AKB48 Autograph line was very good. He was very sociable, he answered all of our questions (while we were in line and any question he couldn't answer, he went and ask another staff member and relay back to us in line) and kept our line well organized. :depressed:

I've got a few friends who regularly volunteer at conventions, it's kind of funny/sad hearing some of the stories of like, egotistical volunteers/supervisors totally screwing everything up because they want to control everything and get involved with convention politics and work the volunteers like slaves and then wonder why everything goes to hell. It's like, hi, you're doing a convention on children's cartoons, try to chill out a bit. Let volunteers do their job and keep them informed. It doesn't inspire much confidence when volunteers don't know what's going on because the people in charge don't get around to telling them. I suppose in the end you get what you pay for...

Yeah I have heard stories about Anime Con staff/volunteers being douches. More reason I try to avoid Anime Cons. :8o:

I have gone to a couple of Comic Cons here in San Francisco and I met a couple of staff members who were very cool. They took there "job" seriously in a way they respect the intelligence of the people that paid money. :depressed:

You cant really fault them for acting out at the con since they have to conform to high moral standards on their board. :depressed:

Actually I'd say due to our actions at NYAF we're riding higher.

NYAF with Jet Ready Go Crowd Control ™ = No complaints as long as I had control, order, civility.

AX with Stage48 Hey we are harder corer fanz! We deserve it! Mentality ™ = Even Animu geeks are put off by you guys.

Nope this website was specifically formulated to handle the awesome power of my scrubbing bubbles.

PLUS.. you gotta admit.. cutting in line on Day 0 of registration (NO EVENTS) to get tickets that were.. ALREADY RESERVED FOR THEM... I think was the funniest thing.

Just a respose to Stage48 posters!  About the topic...  :8o:

@cristafari I understand your point.  But when you are a big group, you need to show a better example. If ZERO Stage48 members were involve (in cutting) this is a non issue.  But when Stage48 members admit what they did (and DONT GIVE A FUCK!), it doesn't look good thats all, especially if it's a forum. :depressed:

Here's what you (Stage48 member) DON'T get!

"S48" said:

When you cheat the first time.  You DONT show up in line, in front of the same people that remembered you (cutting in line the night before) and show off you that you got an autograph in the second autograph after cheating to get the FIRST autograph session.  While the other AKB48 fans got ZERO!

You being "SORRY", I dont gives a Fuck!  But what you did is... give another reason why people should hate AKB48.  Because their fans are Assholes!

I find it pretty funny how immo was being the biggest douche proclaimer that they did nothing wrong and now he's all "GAIZ WE NEED TO DROP THIS :8o: " after seeing that it isn't just an isolated opinion.

I just think it's fucking funny that they take AKB48 so seriously that they'll drop common courtesies to try and get an inch closer. :depressed:

Getting to the front of an AKB crowd really isn't difficult, you need not fret. There's no point jumping in front of people in queues as this could lead to some moaning faggots, just wait until the rush starts to be the first in and crack a few skulls.

Weren't there problems with like, autograph tickets being given out at the same time as people were the Q&A session or something? Or am I mixing that up with Japan Expo :downs:

Yeah, that was the Paris Japan Expo. Not just during the Q&A, they were also giving the tickets during the frigging concert.

However their disorganization came in handy for my exploits as they gave us free range to pull our shit.

The elephant in the room however... did you guys cut?

Answer: Nope. Neither did the S48 members that we met there. Heck Deneth gave his signing ticket to Happo, just because he already got to sign the day before. So maybe it's just the US S48 members that are unruly :downs:.
